Ways to make your big day unique!

There are tons of ways you can make your wedding stand out from all the rest. We've seen so many great ideas, we can't even pack them all into one blog. So, we've decided to split them up and create a mini series of "Ways to make your big day unique". Today, one of our newest event coordinators, Elise will talk about three different ways to really get creative with your Nashville wedding.

Wedding Themes
"One thing I absolutely love is theme weddings. It opens up a floodgate of ways to get crazy and really make your wedding day stand out. Movies, TV shows, color schemes, hobbies, decades, places, seasons, the list could go on forever. You can keep it simple with a few added details or really go all out with the whole thing. You can coordinate your decorations and centerpieces, create a menu with your caterer inspired by your theme, get the cake to match, and you can even wear costumes and invite your guests to get involved too.

There are also many subtle ways to tie in your theme while keeping your wedding elegant and somewhat traditional. Taking pages from your favorite books and incorporating them into your decor is fun. You can enhance your flower bouquet, or have them framed as your centerpiece on tables at the reception. A recent Riverwood bride used books as her table centerpieces at her reception and it was adorable!

Toss the Rice
Another way you can make your wedding day unique is to throw out some old traditions and put your own spin on them. Throwing rice on the newlyweds used to be tradition, but now couples are getting creative with different options. We've seen bubbles, confetti, miniature pom poms, sprinkles, lavender, and my personal favorite, glitter! It looks great in pictures! Rice isn't necessarily a bad idea, but we're getting creative here people.

Fun Photos

Lastly, I think it is way more fun for both you and your wedding party to really think outside of the box when it comes to wedding photos. Instead of the traditional poses, really put your personality into it. Getting creative with your photos makes the day a bit more exciting and the images uniquely memorable. Whether it's getting silly with the wedding party, having little cameras for your guests to take photos, making an Instagram hashtag, setting out a Polaroid camera and pin board, or of course the ever popular photo booths, complete with props, these elements bring a little more life to the party."

The great part here is that it is your wedding and the celebration should be your vision of the perfect day with your partner. No matter how traditional or non traditional that may be, there are so many ways to make it unique!
