There's a new bridal gown shop in town and it is FABULOUS! Fabulous Frocks of Nashville is a bridal boutique for the savvy bride and offers brides a new approach to wedding dress shopping. The newly opened shop in Cool Springs is home to over 100 mint condition designer gowns (think Vera Wang, Rivini, Monique Lhuillier) all 30-70% below the original retail cost! We recently caught up with boutique owner, Amy Grooms who filled us in on her part in the Nashville wedding industry.

How did you get involved in the wedding industry?

"Fabulous Frocks is a small franchise based out of Charleston, SC and I use to work at our store there. I absolutely fell in love with bridal and knew that I had found my calling. After all, how many people can say their job consists of making women feel beautiful each day while contributing to one of the most important days of their life?! After many months of research, I decided to take a leap of faith and bring the concept to Nashville brides. It has been a wonderful adventure and we have already helped so many women find their dream gown."

Can you tell us a bit more about your store?

"Our inventory consists of sample gowns from a traditional bridal boutique, surplus or sample gowns straight from the designer, once-wed gowns, and gowns that a bride bought and perhaps changed her mind about. We sell off the rack, which is why we are able to discount the gowns. We only offer one-on-one appointments, giving brides the boutique experience and atmosphere without the boutique price tag. We also offer made to order bridesmaid dresses, veils, sashes, and jewelry."

What is your favorite part about working in the wedding industry in Nashville specifically?

"Nashville is home to an amazing group of wedding professionals who all work together. I love being a part of such a large community that doesn't feel large. It takes so many vendors to come together to pull a wedding off, and I feel that Nashville is home to the most professional, caring, and creative individuals."

Any advice for brides shopping for their dress or planning a wedding in general?

"When shopping for a dress, I always tell girls it's best to start with just one appointment with a small group of close family and friends. Too often I hear of girls who will schedule 4 or 5 appointments in one day, and by the end of the day they are worn out and not enjoying themselves like they should be. I always joke with girls and say wedding dress shopping is a lot like finding your husband, there will always be other good men out there, just like there will always be other beautiful gowns, but once you found the one, why keep looking?! The more gowns you look at the more confusing the process becomes and becomes stressful for everyone. Have fun with it!"
